Associate Director of Policy & Outreach
Kyla Woods, MPM
Kyla Woods recently transitioned from Open City Advocates’ Board of Directors to her new position as Associate Director of Policy & Outreach. For the last decade, Kyla has partnered with youth-serving organizations to ensure the integration of community expertise in efforts to improve and implement policy and community resources. Throughout her career as a youth justice policy organizer, she has worked with individuals with lived expertise to demand that power shifts from systems to communities, always demanding equity for those systematically disenfranchised.
Kyla holds a Master of Policy Management from the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University and has almost a decade of experience leading policy and human service initiatives. She has developed both legislation and programming to prevent and respond to commercial sexual exploitation of children, mental health access, juvenile justice, and housing disparities.
