Eric Huang

Eric Huang is an executive with GEICO, serving as Chief of Staff to the Head of Staff Counsel, GEICO’s in-house legal defense cadre. In this role, Eric helps lead a department of more than 400 attorneys nationwide, and more than a thousand personnel in total, responsible for defending insured customers. 

Eric began his career as a law clerk to the Honorable Robert Mack Bell, now-retired Chief Judge of the Maryland Court of Appeals (since renamed the Supreme Court of Maryland). Eric spent the next seven years as an Assistant Attorney General with the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia, first as a prosecutor and later as a labor and employment trial attorney. In 2015, Eric joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation as employment counsel in both advisory and litigating roles. He was then recruited into a sequence of newly-created leadership roles: building the FBI’s first National Security Coordination Litigation Unit, serving as Senior Counsel to the FBI's General Counsel, and ultimately becoming Chief of Staff and Senior Counsel to the FBI's Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer.

Eric is a 2005 graduate of the Washington College of Law and Chair of both the Dean's Advisory Council and the John Sherman Myers Society. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts from Princeton University in 2001. Eric has been a longtime supporter of Open City Advocates and is excited and honored to join its Board.
