Sonia joins Open City Advocates from The Gault Center (formerly the National Juvenile Defender Center) where she developed expertise in both juvenile justice and operations management. She has over 15 years of nonprofit management, finance, and operations experience. She has served in a wide range of leadership and management positions, in various nonprofit fields, including education, criminal justice and environmental justice. She also has experience managing the financial and operations departments for various corporations including HBO Latin America Group, La Perla, and Aviation Sales.

Sonia brings experience in strategic planning, funder relations, operations efficiency, and capacity building. She searches for opportunities to advance organizational culture  through innovation, with a passion for building successful and motivated teams that collaborate to a culture of interconnection. Sonia constantly challenges herself to find new and improved ways to operate. Sonia holds a Masters in Business Administration.
